So Slax is far from dead, even though its original creator is not working on it at the
moment, and remains an alternative to other perhaps more well known distributions that offer graphical USB installation tools.
I also found it to connect without any problems to my wireless access point when running from CD in a closed session, making online banking and shopping safer.
Slax remix is a bit more customized and not as vanilla as Slax used to be, for example it includes the Flashgot and NoScript extensions in Firefox and broadcom-sta for wireless. This is making it more functional and remains at a reasonable level in my view.
