The Devuan project has announced the release of Devuan GNU+Linux 2.0.0, code name "ASCII". This means that the project now has a stable release that is up to par with the current stable Debian 9 "Stretch" and provides an upgrade path from the previous "Jessie" release as well as a transition path from the corresponding Debian release. With this the project continues to offer a way of using the advantages of the huge repository of Debian packages while still staying with the old init system and circumventing the controversial systemd suite of system utilities. In essence, Debian as it used to be (from a user perspective).
"Devuan GNU+Linux is a fork of Debian without systemd. Devuan’s stable release is now 2.0.0 ASCII. The 1.0.0 Jessie release (LTS) has moved to oldstable status. Since the declaration of intention to fork in 2014, infrastructure has been put in place to support Devuan’s mission to offer users control over their system. Devuan Jessie provided a safe upgrade path from Debian 7 (Wheezy) and Debian 8 (Jessie). Now Devuan ASCII offers an upgrade from Devuan Jessie as well as a transition from Debian 9 (Stretch) that avoids unnecessary entanglements and ensures Init Freedom."
A large number of desktop environments and architectures are supported and several live CD images are available. Xfce is the default desktop environment.
"Installer CD and DVD images, as well as desktop live and minimal live ISO images, are available for i386 and amd64. Ready-to-use images can be downloaded for a number of ARM platforms and SOCs, including Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, OrangePi, BananaPi, OLinuXino, Cubieboard, Nokia and Motorola mobile phones several Chromebooks, as well as for VirtualBox, QEMU and Vagrant. The Devuan 2.0 ASCII installer ISOs offer a variety of desktop environments including Xfce, KDE, MATE, Cinnamon, LXQt, with others available post-install."

Slackware in the main, but also other bits and bobs on Linux, BSD, and all sorts of things of interest.
