Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yes, for almost three months already the shops have been filled with Christmassy stuff and now it is here. Finally, no more teasing, the real deal. And the people who find it all too much have hopefully managed to escape to the Highlands or some other remote area or somewhere in the world where they don't celebrate it, at least not so much, ideally somewhere south.

It's been another interesting year, in life and in the world of linux and open source. Whatever your thoughts, development is bound to continue at break neck speed.

Regarding this site, the limitations of using Blogger very quickly became apparent and in the new year I would like to move to either Wordpress or to a traditional web site in order to be able to offer downloads. More time will be needed to redesign the site and make it more visually appealing, but also simpler. At present it is quite slow to load, a real dog sometimes, hardly KISS, and the worst offender is loading any sort of background picture. But it's all a question of time, and I prefer writing stuff to designing a cool banner.

To the more than 36,000 readers who stopped by in the five months of existence, thank you very much, and thanks for clicking on some of the ads as well so I get an extra tenner once in a while. Merry Christmas and a happy new year, and good luck in 2011!

Barnaby.
